My Experience
I am principled, engaging, and commercially astute, with significant and extensive experience in responsible business, company operations, and strategy. I have a particularly keen interest in sustainability in and out of the workplace.
I helped run and grow a successful, responsible business in my long-term roles as Senior Consultant and then Managing Director, Operations at Pragma Consulting, a boutique strategy consultancy. With overall responsibility for operations, budgeting, financial reporting, governance, legal, HR, team recruitment and development, I gained invaluable knowledge of company operations and how to successfully apply CSR practices.
Seeing the business requirement and opportunity, I subsequently proposed and took on the new role of Director of Responsible Business at the parent company, Kin and Carta Plc, a fast-growing professional services multinational. In this role, I devised and implemented a company-wide strategy (see below for more detail) and championed an ambitious vision which successfully secured the digital transformation consultancy an outstanding reputation and industry-leading USP as a responsible business and the first B Corp on the LSE.

Responsible business programme case study:
The goal at Kin + Carta Plc was to become one of the world’s leading publicly-traded triple bottom line businesses (with a focus on people and planet as well as profit), and the first B Corp on the London Stock Exchange
Process:
The long-term change and improvement programme we implemented involved:
Data collection and insight analysis across all departments to evaluate CSR performance
Strategy development across functions aligned with company goals and targets, and
Implementation of resulting strategic initiatives to deliver and embed sustainable improvements over significant periods of time
Initiatives implemented:
-
Implementation of new national charity partnerships in the UK, US and Argentina
Involvement in the new IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness) strategy development and oversight of implementation
Set up, launch and results analysis of employee diversity and engagement survey
Providing expert support and advice across all areas of responsible business internally and externally
-
Development of a new climate strategy and action plan
Introduction of robust carbon emissions measurement and reporting (including Scope 3), and offset strategy
Reporting against TCFD requirements
Incorporation of new supplier environmental and ethical evaluation into the global procurement process
-
Development of a robust, progressive governance and measurement framework (for which we won a Best in the World award from B Corp)
Working with senior management to provide responsible business solutions in line with company strategy
Reporting back to regional and Plc boards on new initiatives and progress
Management of investor consultation exercise resulting in over 99% of shareholders voting to change the Plc’s articles of association to include a commitment to people and planet as well as profit
-
Communication of progress and thought leadership internally and externally, with input into white papers, client pitches, blogs and magazine articles
Improved, transparent reporting through the publication of regional impact reports and detailed responsible business section of the Plc Annual Report
Outcome:
Kin and Carta Plc certified as the first B Corp on the LSE in December 2021, achieving the company goal two years ahead of target. As a leading responsible business, the certification means the company has a significant USP providing a substantial advantage in winning customers as well as team recruitment. Being a socially and environmentally responsible business continues to underpin the company’s overall strategy and ongoing success.
